Shutdown can continue until new year

The acting chief of staff of the White House, Mick Mulvaney, takes into account that the so-called shutdown of the American government can last until 3 January.

'I do not think things will get moving fast in the coming days,' said Mulvaney, budget director, and on 15 December he was appointed observer to chief of staff John Kelly. He pointed out that on 3 January the new Congress will take office, after the elections on 6 November.
