catania, italy - Swedish activist Greta Thunberg is part of a crew of twelve onboard a ship departing from Catania, Italy, to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, organized by Freedom Flotilla.

Greta Thunberg Joins Humanitarian Aid Mission to Gaza

A ship carrying humanitarian aid is setting sail from Catania, Italy, to Gaza, with Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg among the twelve crew members. The mission, organized by Freedom Flotilla, aims to deliver essential supplies to Gaza in defiance of Israel's blockade imposed on March 2.

Background of the Mission

The voyage is supported by Alleanza Verdi Sinistra, a left-wing party, and involves a sailboat transporting goods like fruit juice, milk, rice, canned food, and protein bars, donated by Catania residents. Thunberg's involvement comes after a previous attempt was disrupted near Malta, with activists alleging an attack by an Israeli drone.
