In a newly released footage from May 9, 1945, captured by American Captain Oren W. Haglund in Pilsen, a woman, dubbed the 'Lost German Girl,' remains unidentified, stirring curiosity and debate.

Unsolved Identity

The woman, with a swollen face, is seen walking past Haglund post-German surrender, evoking sympathy and intrigue. Speculations range from being an SS member to a caregiver, but her true identity remains unknown.

Continued Speculations

Some believe she is Lore Bauer, a figure in the German air force during WWII, yet no concrete evidence exists. The footage, part of a 25-minute film showcasing post-war scenes, has captured global attention.

The footage, including the enigmatic woman, is available on the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum website in Washington, DC.
