Better weather when searching for a submarine

The search for the disappeared Argentinian submarine can count on better weather conditions.

Meteorologists predict less wind and therefore less high waves. This gives the more than twelve searching vessels the opportunity to view the remaining part of the search area much faster than the last six days. Storm and high waves made the search so difficult.

The ARA San Juan was put into operation in 1983. There is still enough food on board. However, the navy does not know how much oxygen the crew members still have at their disposal. The vessel was on its way at the time of its disappearance to prevent illegal fishing. After the captain reported problems with the battery, nothing has been heard.

The submarine uses diesel and electric engines.
