Trump: I can give myself amnesty

US President Donald Trump says he has the 'absolute right' to grant amnesty.

Trumps lawyer Rudy Giuliani said earlier that the president 'probably' has the right to cancel a sentence. He added that something like this would be unthinkable from a political point of view. Trump agreed on Twitter that he did not expect to use the presidential authority on his own. 'Why would I do that if I did not do anything wrong?' He wondered.

The president also looked back on his first five hundred days in the White House on Monday. 'We have achieved a lot. According to many, even more than any other president in his first five hundred days, 'concluded Trump, who summed up his feats. Among other things, he mentioned tax reductions, the reduction of bureaucracy, better secured borders and 'the best economy and employment ever'.
