washington - The National Security Council in the White House is set to undergo significant downsizing, aiming to cut bureaucracy and streamline operations, impacting numerous experts and advisors.
Trump Administration to Drastically Reduce National Security Council
The White House's National Security Council (NSC) is planning a substantial reduction in its size, with the aim of addressing bureaucracy and efficiency, according to sources. The move is intended to bring the council to a similar scale as it was at the end of President Trump's first term.
Role of the NSC
The NSC provides the president with advice on international issues and national security, drawing staff from various government departments and intelligence agencies. However, President Trump is said to prioritize the opinions of certain cabinet members over recommendations from the council.
Former NSC head, Mike Waltz, was reassigned earlier this year after inadvertently adding a journalist to a group chat discussing a military operation in Yemen.
