Woman Involved in Stabbing Incident Recently Discharged from Psychiatric Facility

The 39-year-old woman who stabbed several people at Hamburg's central station had been released from a psychiatric hospital just a day earlier.

Treatment and Discharge

She had spent three weeks in treatment after being found in a state of helplessness earlier this month, according to a spokesperson from the Ministry of Health in Lower Saxony.

The authorities have not disclosed the specific reasons for her treatment due to privacy concerns.

Legal Action

Following the stabbing incident that left eighteen people injured, the woman has been transferred to a psychiatric institution as ordered by the police court.

Law enforcement had previously mentioned concrete evidence of a mental health condition in the suspect.
