The number of deaths officially increased to 43

The official death toll of the brigade in the Italian city of Genoa is at 43.

According to the fire brigade, all reported missing persons were found, but the search will be continued to ensure that nobody is left under the rubble.

On Saturday, emergency services found three more people under the rubble. The three were in a car that was completely crushed under a large concrete block that was part of one of the pylons of the bridge. Later, the body of a 30-year-old man was found and one of the wounded in the hospital collapsed.

The Italian Ministry of the Interior reported on Saturday night that there are foreigners among the dead: four French, three Chileans, two Albanians, two Romanians, a Colombian and a Peruvian.

Tuesday the crucial traffic bridge collapsed and dozens of cars fell about 45 meters down and ended up in the river Polcevera or on the banks between debris of the bridge. The 1.2-kilometer-long bridge from the sixties spanned a railway complex, an industrial estate and residential areas.
