Details of the Incident

Kebbel, who held Namibian citizenship, was camping with his wife and friends when the lioness attacked him as he left his tent early in the morning. Despite efforts by fellow campers to scare off the lioness, Kebbel succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The Namibian Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Tourism reported that the lioness was located and euthanized as it posed a threat to the surrounding communities.
