boulder - Mohamed Sabry Soliman, the 45-year-old suspect behind the molotov cocktail attack in Boulder, was found to have overstayed his visa, injuring 8 people during a protest march.

Suspect in Molotov Cocktail Attack Appears in Court

Mohamed Sabry Soliman, an Egyptian citizen, faces charges for injuring 8 people with molotov cocktails and a makeshift flamethrower during a protest in Boulder.

Attack Details

The incident occurred during a 'Run for Their Lives' march advocating for Israeli hostages in Gaza. Soliman is accused of attempted premeditated murder, although no fatalities were reported.

Reports indicate Soliman sustained injuries himself when his clothing caught fire after throwing a second molotov cocktail. Social media footage shows him removing his burning shirt.

Immigration Status

Immigration records reveal Soliman entered the US on a temporary visa in 2022, which expired in February 2023. Despite this, he remained in the country, allegedly obtaining a work permit under the Biden administration.

Authorities clarified on social media that no deaths occurred despite initial confusion over the severity of the charges against Soliman.
