Situation for tourist in Cuba improved

The situation in Hurricane Irma affected Cuba has been so improved that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague no longer disrupts holiday trips.

Exception is still the northern coastline and islands of the provinces of Camagüey, Ciego de Avila and Sancti Spíritus, heavily affected by natural violence.

The city of Havana and the international airport are not included in these areas. For the rest of Cuba there are security risks. Electricity, telephony and Internet connections remain limited in large parts of the country. This also limits the food and water supply. Take sufficient cash, it is recommended.

'Contact your travel agency about the situation in which you travel,' said Foreign Affairs.
