Right hand El Chapo for life in the cell

Dámaso López Núñez, the former right-hand man of the Mexican drug criminal Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzmán, has been sentenced to life imprisonment in America for involvement in drug trafficking.

Besides drug lord, López, nicknamed El Licenciado ('the doctoral student'), was also a lawyer and director of the Altiplano prison where 'El Chapo' ('little one') escaped twice. He would have played a major role in his first escape in 2001. López was arrested in 2017 and extradited to the United States.
