More than 100 deaths in Madagascar by the plague

The number of deaths caused by the recent outbreak of Madagascar pest has risen to 107.

The majority of patients suffer from the very dangerous pulmonary disease. Untreated, this disease often leads to death within 24 hours. As the condition can be transmitted like flu, it can spread very quickly.

Smaller outbreaks of less dangerous bile ducts are not uncommon in Madagascar, but the current epidemic is considerably more severe by the many lung fever sufferers.
