Lavrov: British refuse help in research

London refuses to give Russia the substance with which last Sunday the assassination attempt on the former double spy Sergej Skripal and his daughter Joelia was committed.

There a military type of nerve gas was used that originates from the Soviet Union. Lavrov said that Russia wants to view material from the British investigation, partly because the 33-year-old Yulia Skripal is a Russian citizen. London should make the substance available to Russian researchers on the basis of the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.

The boss at the OPCW, the international organization that fights chemical weapons, Ahmet Uzumcu, has condemned the chemical attack on Tuesday.
