Italian collapses from bridge and survives fall: It was apocalyptic

Davide Capello from the Italian city of Savona drove over the bridge in Genoa that collapsed Tuesday morning.

'I do not know what saved me. But I'm okay ', he says from the ambulance to the newspaper La Stampa. Capello, who was quickly found by emergency services, is very happy that he has survived: 'It was frightening, apocalyptic, like in a movie. I have been very lucky, really a miracle. '

He does not understand how such a disaster can happen on one of the busiest roads in Italy. 'It is almost unthinkable. Thank God I can still retell it. '
