Fishermen temporarily barred from the Yellow River

In China, a temporary fishing ban is in force on the Yellow River for the first time to protect the fish stocks and the biodiversity of the river.

For the time being, it is not allowed to fish on the main stream, three large lakes and several tributaries of the second largest river in China, reports Xinhua state press agency. Local authorities have, among other things, informed fishermen via social media and local news newspapers. Only for reproductive or scientific purposes, fish, after permission, may still be caught.

Such a ban existed before the Jangtse, China's largest river. You can not fish there during the spawning season.
