Dozens of dead, this is terrible tragedy

The scale of the disaster in Genoa, where a large suspension bridge collapsed, is slowly becoming clear.

'Many vehicles are crushed under the rubble', police sources know from Corriere Della Sera. Minister of Transport Danilo Toninelli calls it an 'immense tragedy' and fellow minister Rixi also speaks of a 'terrible tragedy'.

On social media, video images circulate showing how rescue workers do everything that is possible. 'Thanks for the fire brigade, and all the heroes who are now saving lives', the Minister of Home Affairs, Matteo Salvini, writes on Facebook.
