Climate conference will not be ready until late at night

Overtime for the participants in the world climate conference in Bonn, Germany.

Mostly behind closed doors the delegates were still working on a unanimous final statement until deep into Friday night. Discussions and disagreements mainly focused on the flows of money from the industrialized countries to developing countries in order to prevent global warming. The differences of opinion were almost all resolved to the satisfaction of the poor countries.

According to the German Environment Minister, Jochen Flasbarth, the conference has made good progress with one of the main themes in Bonn, the work on a roadmap for the Paris climate agreement. That will eventually have to be approved in the Polish Katowice in the coming year.
