Cell punishment for insulting Djengis Khan

A Chinese man has to go into the cell for a year because he has been standing on a portrait of Djengis Khan.

Luo trampled the image of Djengis Khan in a traditional yurt in northern China and placed a video of it on a popular video platform. The images attracted a lot of attention in the following days, to which many Mongolians complained.

Djengis Khan (1162-1227) united the Mongol tribes and founded an empire that included large parts of China and Central Asia. His grandson Kublai Khan later founded the Chinese Yuan dynasty. Historians see in Djengis Khan a murderous, unscrupulous ruler, but the Mongolians still worship him and many Chinese recognize him as the founder of a great empire.
