A driver of the Brussels public transport company STIB has been dismissed.

Olivier B. was more than 25 employed by the transport company. He had worked flawlessly all those years, but in recent months he was dismissed.

During one of the heat waves of this summer, Olivier appeared in shorts and a shirt at a staff party. Colleagues could not keep their eyes off Olivier's striking tattoos. '88' is depicted on his arm, which stands for Heil Hitler. In addition, he also has an eagle on his arm. Colleagues took pictures of Olivier's 'stickers', which then landed on their employer's desk.

'This is totally incompatible with our values. Moreover, the signs are punishable by the law on negationism ', says An Van Hamme of MIVB against Het Nieuwsblad.

Whether the man risks a criminal trial in addition to his dismissal is unclear. If Olivier is prosecuted under criminal law, he rises to a prison sentence up to one year.
