AzG worried about crowded camps on Lesvos

Thousands of men, women and children are stuck on the Greek islands while winter is coming again.

Lesvos have families who have just arrived from, for example, Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq. They stay in small summer tents. An average of ten people with acute mental health problems report daily in the AzG post. There are too few showers, toilets and water. The tents have no heating. Many more people stay in the camps than there is space.

People are arriving every day on the Greek islands, after they have put their lives on the Aegean Sea at risk, says MSF. 'This policy that is imposed on vulnerable people in search of protection is a failure and must stop,' said Emilie Rouvroy, country coordinator in Greece.
