Piñera winner first round in Chile

Billionaire and former president Sebastian Piñera leads Sunday in the first round of the presidential elections in Chile.

The center-left politician Alejandro Guillier is currently on the second spot with a score of 22. 6 percent. Guillier or Piñera is elected president in the second round of elections, scheduled for 17 December.

In order to win the presidency in the first round, Piñera should have received more than 50 percent of the votes.

The winner of the elections will succeed the left-wing president Michelle Bachelet.
