Poland continues with logging despite EU ruling

Poland is continuing with the 'protective' logging of the forest bialowieza despite a ruling by the supreme European judge to put this cap immediately.

The logging is in violation of nature conservation laws and it poses a serious threat to an area that belongs to UNESCO's world heritage. But the Polish government insists that the logging is needed to prevent the spread of harmful beetles.

'The state forests are required to take protective measures. We must carry out the protection measures and this is what we do, 'said Konrad Tomaszewski.
