King asks Catalans to be wise

The Spanish king Felipe VI called upon the Catalan policy makers three days after the regional parliamentary elections to act responsibly and wisely.

The ballot box Thursday, the three parties that strive for independence again won a majority in the Catalan parliament. That was thanks to the electoral system. The pro-Spain camp received 52 percent of the votes. Felipe wants Catalonia to regain control, stability and mutual respect. '

According to the monarch, Spain is a mature democracy, in which every citizen can proclaim and defend his or her opinion and ideas. 'But no one can pursue his own plans at the expense of the rights of others,' said Felipe.
