Justice takes action against Guaidó

In Venezuela the justice department has taken action against interim president Juan Guaidó on Tuesday.

As a parliamentarian, also chairman of the National Assembly, Guaidó enjoys political immunity against criminal investigation, but the chief judge can cancel it. That also means that he can not leave the country. Guaidó, who has the support of the US, among others, proclaimed himself a transitional president last week. He promised the socialist head of state Nicolás Maduro to resign and to issue new elections.
