Brain behind terror worked for secret service

The brain behind the summer attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils, imam Abdelbaki Es Satty, worked as an informer for the Spanish secret service.

In 2010 Es Satty was approached by the intelligence service CNI when he was in prison for drug trafficking. The secret service does not think that's strange: at that time Es Satty was not yet a terror suspect, according to the service, and moreover, there is more often cooperation with detainees. When Es Satty worked exactly as an informer, CNI does not want to say.

Es Satty would have coordinated the attack in Barcelona (13 deaths, more than a hundred wounded) and the largely unsuccessful attack in Cambrils. He died in an explosion in his hiding place in Alcanar.
