quevy, belgium - A 7-year-old boy in Belgium was tragically attacked and killed by five sled dogs from his family's breeding farm. Experts emphasize that there is no direct link between a dog's breed and its tendency to bite.

A 7-year-old boy named Aodren from Quévy, Belgium, lost his life on Thursday after being attacked by five sled dogs from his family's breeding farm. Despite the incident, experts point out that there is no direct correlation between a dog's breed and its inclination to bite.

Aodren accompanied his mother to feed the dogs on Thursday afternoon in Rue de la Chaussée in Gœgnies-Chaussée (Quévy) because he did not like to stay indoors alone. While everything was going smoothly, the situation took a tragic turn when the five young Alaska malamutes in the last enclosure unexpectedly attacked him.

Alaska malamutes are known for being friendly and playful. However, veterinarian and behavior specialist, Tiny De Keuster, highlighted that there is no direct link between a dog's breed and its tendency to bite. Research indicates that any dog, regardless of breed, can potentially exhibit aggression.

Aodren's older brother, Kerian, was present during the incident and rushed to help upon hearing their mother's cries. Despite their efforts, the young boy succumbed to his injuries. The family's distress was compounded by the fact that the dogs, aged one year, had exhibited no prior signs of aggression.

The family has made the difficult decision to euthanize the five dogs involved in the attack. Kerian expressed that animals can be unpredictable, emphasizing the need for caution when dealing with them.

An investigation into the tragic incident has been launched, and the family is receiving support from a psychological unit as they cope with their loss.
