Toxic polyps plague bathers Australia

Many bathers in Australia have been painfully in contact with the tentacles of Portuguese warships, a collection of poisonous polyps that are also called jellyfish by their appearance.

According to the rescue service, some 900 people on the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast to the north and south of Brisbane were treated to their injuries alone on Sunday. The poison of the Portuguese warship causes severe pain and can also make some people breathless. The poison is deadly for small fish.
