- Arsenal is in discussions with Brentford to acquire Christian Nørgaard amid uncertainties over Thomas Partey's contract extension. The potential deal could cost up to £15 million, sources reveal.

Arsenal in Talks to Sign Christian Nørgaard from Brentford

Arsenal has initiated negotiations with Brentford for the transfer of Christian Nørgaard as they face the prospect of losing key midfielders. The Gunners are exploring options due to uncertainties surrounding Thomas Partey's contract extension.

Uncertainties Over Partey's Future

With Jorginho's departure to Flamengo and ongoing talks with Thomas Partey, Arsenal is considering Nørgaard as a potential replacement. However, negotiations with Partey have hit a roadblock, primarily due to wage disagreements. As a result, Partey may leave on a free transfer when his contract expires.

Potential Cost and Availability

Sources suggest that acquiring Nørgaard could amount to £15 million, including add-ons. Despite being under contract with Brentford until 2027, Nørgaard is reportedly open to the move to Arsenal.

Competition from Tottenham

There is speculation about Tottenham's interest in Nørgaard, given the history between the player and former Brentford manager Thomas Frank, who is now at the helm of Spurs.

Additional Signings Expected

Arsenal is also close to securing deals for goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea, agreeing to pay his release clause, and midfielder Martín Zubimendi from Real Sociedad in a £51 million deal.
