Merkel wants European asylum summit on Sunday

The German Chancellor Angela Merkel wants to hold an informal 'asylum summit' in Brussels on Sunday with EU countries that have a lot to do with migrants.

Merkel is under great pressure in German politics to come up with a European migration policy before the end of the month in order to control the migrant flow.

The conservative, Bavarian wing of the Christian Democrats in Germany threatened migration policy with a break with Merkel and thus a government crisis. If Europe does not come up with a common approach quickly, Germany would have to start sending migrants at the border in July. Merkel absolutely does not want that and is committed to European approach.
