Pro-Palestinian Protest Turns Violent in Berlin

A peaceful pro-Palestinian demonstration in Berlin's Kreuzberg district turned violent as protesters threw objects at police, sprayed them with red paint, and engaged in physical altercations.

Police Response and Arrests

The police reported that bottles, a stone, and other objects were thrown, resulting in one officer being injured. Video footage shows confrontations where protesters were pushed and hit by the police. Approximately twenty people were arrested, with some reports indicating up to thirty individuals were detained.

Disruption and Police Intervention

Authorities announced the protest's dissolution around 8:00 p.m. due to what they described as 'several serious crimes' committed during the demonstration. Despite the presence of at least one water cannon, there are no reports of its deployment.
