Cows kill woman: 5 tons of compensation

A Tyrolean farmer has to pay 490,000 euros in damages from the court, because his cows killed a 45-year-old tourist in 2014.

In July 2014, the woman walked with her leash on a walking path in the Pinnistal, south of Innsbruck, when the cows ran towards her and trampled her. According to researchers, the animals apparently responded aggressively to the dog. The Public Prosecution Service had already closed the investigation in 2014, but the wife's husband had held the farmer liable for the damage.
