China against Dalai Lama visit to India

China objected to a visit by the Dalai Lama to a disputed border region in India that is claimed by China.

It is intended that Indian government representatives have met with the Tibetan spiritual leader as he brings on Tuesday, a nine-day religious visit to Arunachal Pradesh. He may also travel freely to other parts of India.

China is anyway against visiting foreign or even Indian leaders to 'South Tibet' as it refers to the region in the eastern Himalayas. In addition, China, the Dalai Lama living in exile sees as a dangerous separatist.

China urges India to refrain from actions that further complicate the border issue, said a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
