- Seal Centre Pieterburen has a second black gray seal pup engulfed in a month's time. Also this animal has melanism, a rare disorder that causes the coat is completely black. It is the opposite of albinism.

The young animal was Monday, tired, found on an artificial sandbank at Egmond aan Zee. She had some superficial injuries but is otherwise in such good condition that they can be seen from Wednesday to the public.

Pieterburen now has two of the black animals in the shelter. Last month, a puppy was also introduced with melanism. Both are about two months old and presumably lost their mother.

The copy now been added, is only the tenth seal with melanism in Pieterburen since the establishment of the center in 1971.

The Seal Centre is looking for a university or research institute that DNA of the animals will compare kinship.
