Thousands of Scots are sleeping in a park

Thousands of people brave the cold in the night from Saturday to Sunday to sleep in Edinburgh in Scotland.

Around 8,000 people are expected to spend the night in a park in the Scottish city. Safety teams keep an eye on things because of the low temperatures. 'It will be about minus 6 degrees, so I hope everyone wears warm clothes,' said organizer Josh Littlejohn. 'But it is dry and the wind is not too bad. '

Several artists have pledged support. This is how Liam Gallagher and Amy Macdonald perform. Comedian John Cleese comes with a 'story for sleep' and vocalist Bob Geldof addresses the audience. The organization hopes that the campaign will raise 4 million pounds (over 4.5 million euros).

More than 200 people participated in a similar event. This time it seems to become a lot busier. People sat in line outside the park on Saturday night. Littlejohn thinks that the famous names add a bit of 'tension' to the action, but that participants come mainly to help the homeless.
