Lufthansa Flight Incident: Co-Pilot Faints
During a flight, a co-pilot of a Lufthansa plane fainted while the captain was away, leaving the aircraft unattended for approximately ten minutes.
Details of the Incident
Reported by a Spanish investigation agency, the serious incident from February 17 last year raised concerns about flight safety protocols.
Lufthansa acknowledged the report but did not disclose the findings of its own flight safety department's investigation.
Stable Flight Amidst Crisis
Despite the unconscious co-pilot inadvertently manipulating the controls, the plane remained stable due to the autopilot system's functionality.
The captain managed to access the cockpit by using an emergency code, which he had recently been trained for, after unsuccessfully trying the normal code multiple times.
