- Carlo Ancelotti expresses satisfaction with Real Madrid's signings, focusing on defensive rebuild after missing out on major trophies this season. The club has secured Dean Huijsen and targets Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Carlo Ancelotti Satisfied with Real Madrid's Signings

Real Madrid's manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has voiced contentment with the club's recent signings, particularly amidst a significant defensive reconstruction following a trophy-less season. The team failed to secure major titles, facing challenges due to injuries to key players.

Defensive Rebuild Initiatives

Barcelona clinched the LaLiga title as Real Madrid missed out on Champions League and Copa del Rey victories. In response, Madrid has acquired centre-back Dean Huijsen, is pursuing right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, and engaging with Benfica for left-back Álvaro Carreras.

Ancelotti emphasized his satisfaction, highlighting the signings of notable players like Eduardo Camavinga, Antonio Rüdiger, Aurélien Tchouaméni, Jude Bellingham, and Kylian Mbappé. He defended the club's decision not to reinforce the squad last year or in January, despite setbacks from long-term injuries to key defenders Éder Militão and Dani Carvajal.

Ancelotti's Perspective

Speaking ahead of Madrid's LaLiga match against Sevilla, Ancelotti expressed no regrets, attributing the season's challenges to injuries. The absence of top defenders impacted the team's performance, including the recent Clásico defeat at Barcelona.

Ancelotti dismissed claims that the lack of January reinforcements significantly influenced Madrid's season outcome. He refrained from criticizing the club's actions and stressed that decisions were made collectively with the coaching staff.

Barcelona's Triumph and Ancelotti's Future

Following Barcelona's title win, Ancelotti acknowledged their deserving victory and praised their consistency and style of play. He is set to depart Madrid at the end of the season to lead the Brazil national team, with Xabi Alonso poised to succeed him for the upcoming Club World Cup.
