Sixteen injured after explosion tourist boat Thailand

A boat with 31 tourists from China and Thailand on board has exploded and caught fire near the popular Thai island of Koh Phi Phi.

The captain and two other people had severe burns. The cause of the explosion could be an oil leak at the front of the boat, the police suspected. The fire then quickly seized itself and forced the tourists to jump into the water.

26 of the passengers were holidaymakers from China, the rest were local tourists. After everyone was saved, the boat was sunk, police said.
