Mercedes shows safe parking space

stuttgart - Where can you park your car safely? Mercedes will answer that question in the future. The German car manufacturer is working on an application that checks the available parking spaces at the final destination on the basis of public crime statistics.

If the environment appears to be safe, the parking spot will turn green. If an unsafe situation has occurred in the previous weeks, the screen will show a red color of 'you do not want to be there'. The German car builder is currently testing the technology in Seattle where the data is public.

The program also takes into account the walking distance to the final destination and the parking fees. The information is displayed on the screen in the car. The technology is still in the development phase. Mercedes expects that the information will not be available in all countries.
