- The Dutch coast last year visited by 2.3 million foreigners. They gave a total of 1.2 billion euros. Especially Germans and Belgians love the Dutch beaches and dunes. They praise the good accessibility, the cycling and walking and the panoramic view. This concludes Dutch Board of Tourism amp; Conventions (NBTC) in a study presented Wednesday.
There were last year nearly 1.6 million Germans and almost 420 000 Belgians to the Dutch coast. The researchers also show areas where coastal tourism can be developed further: restaurants with local cuisine, excursions to the hinterland, visiting historical sites and stay in small accommodations.
