The F-16 that burned out on Thursday at a Belgian air base was hit by practice ammunition. A technician would have accidentally fired ammunition on the fighter plane during maintenance work from another aircraft.
At an air base in Belgium, an F-16 burned out after the aircraft had caught fire during a maintenance visit. Two technicians suffered minor injuries, reports the Ministry of Defense.
The mission of some firefighters from the Belgian Ardennes did not go as planned on Monday. After they were plucked out in Florennes in the province of Namur to fight a fire, their own vehicle caught fire because of a technical problem. To make matters worse, the fire from the fire brigade vehicle turned to a field along the road.
