'Belgian F-16 destroyed by practice ammunition'

florennes - The F-16 that burned out on Thursday at a Belgian air base was hit by practice ammunition. A technician would have accidentally fired ammunition on the fighter plane during maintenance work from another aircraft.

Several Belgian media report this on the basis of sources. Defense itself does not want to say anything about it yet. There is an investigation.

The F-16 caught fire and was destroyed. A second device was damaged. Two technicians sustained hearing damage during the incident at the military airport in Florennes, southern Belgium.
