Transgenders still welcome in US Army
A federal court in the state of Virginia has ruled on appeal that the ban on transgender people from joining the US Army from January 1 will not be continued.
A court ruled earlier that the army must allow transgender recruits from 1 January. Refusal of transgender people is a form of discrimination and in violation of the constitution, the judge in Baltimore.
At the court in Richmond the government insisted on a quick decision on appeal because the organization of the army threatened to get into trouble because of the decision. However, the three judges in Richmond confirmed the court's verdict.
