The former Prime Minister of Thailand Yingluck Shinawatra has fled to Great Britain, says the military government of the Asian country.

The fifty-year-old ex-prime minister had left abroad in August and has since been sought. An international arrest warrant has been issued against her. Thailand sentenced her in absentia to five years in prison for corruption.

It is still unknown how she traveled to the United Kingdom without a valid passport. According to the Thai government, she may have used a passport from another country.
