Suspected egg scandal remain stuck

The two directors of the Chickfriend company suspected of using fipronil in stallions with laying hens will remain stuck for 30 days.

Martin van B. (31) from Barneveld and Mathijs IJ. (24) from Nederhemert are suspected of endangering public health by providing or using the drug fipronil in stables with laying hens. According to the Dutch Food and Drug Administration, Fipronil is an insecticide that can not be used for animals destined for the food chain.

The duo has been trapped in the criminal investigation into the egg scandal since August 10th.
