Peace returns to Côte dIvoire

The President of Ivory Coast Alassane Ouattara has said that agreement has been reached with disgruntled soldiers in his country.

Ouattara told his ministers and journalists that he had agreed to take into account the demands of the military. They want pay rise and better working and living conditions.

'But I would like to say that this way of demands is not appropriate. It affects the image of our country, after all our efforts to revive the economy, 'Ouattara said before he appealed to the soldiers to return to barracks.

In several Ivorian cities since Friday was restless. Since Saturday was regularly hear gunfire by mutinous soldiers. Rebellious soldiers insisted Saturday afternoon inside the headquarters of the Ivorian Ministry of Defence.

The Republic of Ivory Coast lies in West Africa and has over 23 million inhabitants.
