Energy fire volcano is decreasing, danger remains

The director of the Guatemalan Institute of Volcanology assumes that the energy of the erupted Volcán de Fuego will decrease further, but the danger for local residents has not gone away.

The rescue services continue to search for victims and slowly get an idea of ​​the scale of the disaster. Firefighters have found entire families in homes on the flanks of the mountain that have been killed by the heavy eruption of Sunday.

The death toll so far is 65, but will probably increase. In hospitals, doctors fight for the lives of hundreds of wounded, several of whom have third-degree burns.
