China wants sanctions from the US

The Chinese Ministry of Defense is demanding that US sanctions be removed against a Chinese military agency.

Washington last week imposed punitive measures against the Chinese agency that deals with arms procurement and the director of that service. The sanctions were related to the purchase of Russian military equipment, including fighter aircraft of the SU-35 type, with arms exporter Rosoboronexport.

The Chinese broke the American sanctions against Russia with the purchase. The Chinese Defense Ministry is now saying that the US 'does not have the right' to interfere in such a 'normal' form of military cooperation.

The relationship between Beijing and Washington was already under pressure due to the trade war between the two superpowers. Insiders previously told the Bloomberg news agency that China has canceled scheduled trade negotiations with the US. This would be related, among other things, to the US sanctions against the Chinese military agency.
