After burning now mudflows in California

Heavy rainfall in the south of the US state of California has killed at least thirteen people.

Rescue workers search for victims between the rubble and the fallen trees. According to the fire department, it was a matter of minutes that the rain caused mudslides on the nearby slopes and flooded a river. A spokesperson for the Santa Barbara County fire brigade speaks of a disaster scenario.

The same region was ravaged by huge wildfires less than a few weeks ago. In the region in the west of the USA, a lot of vegetation was lost. More than a thousand houses and other buildings were destroyed by the natural fires.
