Brad Sigmon, 67, convicted of double murder, opted for firing squad execution in South Carolina to avoid a slower death.

Background:

Execution Details:

Sigmon was shot by a three-person firing squad at Broad River Correctional Institution.

Reaction:

Rev. Hillary Taylor praised Sigmon for his transformation in prison, becoming a spiritual leader for other death row inmates.
